During three years in the Design and Textiles program at Edvard Munch Upper Secondary School, I developed a strong foundation in design, construction, and digital design tools. The program gave me a solid understanding of materials, color theory, and form, while also allowing me to build practical skills in textiles and a variety of craft techniques.
A major focus of the education was the creative design process. Through extensive work with mood boards, sketching, prototyping, and concept development, I learned how to take ideas from initial inspiration to finished products. I also gained hands-on experience designing and producing my own garments and design projects.
In addition, I participated in an entrepreneurship program where my team founded a student company that created earrings made from recycled materials. Through this experience, I gained valuable insight into product development, branding, pitching, and business strategy. Our company went on to win both the DNB Savings Bank Foundation Pitch Competition and the Regional Entrepreneurship Championship.
